Guided Canoe Trails

Hi! My name is Allan, and I run Guided Canoe Trails, mainly on the Kei and Keiskama rivers in the Eastern Cape and Wild Coast. We can also do other rivers on request.

My phone number is 082 783 1288, and I am based in East London. I guide the canoe trails, and provide the kayaks and tents, food and other accommodation can be arranged as well.

The trails are flat water trips, and I use fast but stable canoes designed to carry you and your equipment for the duration of the trip.

No previous experience is necessary. The canoes are light, and most steer with a rudder, so you won't be blown around by the wind or currents.

The rivers where we run overnight trips are: Bushman's River (in Kenton), Kowie River (in Port Alfred), Keiskama River (in Hamburg), Kei River (Kei Mouth, Transkei border), Double Mouth (near Morgan Bay), Nqabara River (two night three day trip near Dwesa Nature Reserve).

We do 1 day canoe trail trips to the Nahoon River, Gonubie River and the Kwelera River.

Each trip is priced according to the destination and number of days involved.

I paddle almost every single day, and it is the best thing I have ever done, I absolutely love it. To be out there on a beautiful river with a variety of wildlife around you is a really wonderful experience. The sunrises and sunsets are often breath-taking.
